Having trouble on the road? Practice defensive driving. Don’t worry. It has nothing to do with defending yourself from the bad boys on the road. This is not like martial arts. This is something kinder than kicking and punching with blood smeared all over you. This is a smart move for sure. You don’t only save yourself but other people on the road, too. So if I were you, I’ll let myself be counted as one today!
So basically, what is defensive driving? How could it save lives? It’s simple. Defensive driving is the act of driving a car with the utmost carefulness, cautiousness, attentiveness, and all other good things that come to your mind while you are on the road. This has only one goal. Everyone who is practicing this aims for a safe road for every person who drives through it including reckless drivers.
Being a defensive driver does not need any registration or membership. Nor does it need extensive trainings, workshops, and study. This is because practicing this kind of driving is just like using one’s common sense. If what one thinks is a safe thing to do, then practicing it could make him/her a defensive driver. With simple steps such as following traffic rules, being aware of the traffic signs and symbols, maintaining proper distance from other cars on the road, checking the car before using it, observing the right speed, and the likes, one could be qualified to be called a defensive driver. That’s the only requirement.
So better stop driving recklessly. Just think that there are many people that are making an effort to make the road a safer place for everybody. It does not matter for those people how you perform on the road. What these people want is a safer place so no one has to fear driving on the roads again. Have a clear conscience, practice defensive driving. Convert yourself now, I already did.
